Kate is really starting to play games with us. She hides her hands behind her back and with a sing song voice she says, "Where'sitgone?" (She doesn't separate words in her 'sentences'). She then slowly brings them out and yells, "Theretheyare!" She received a Dorothy the Dinosaur soft toy and immediately fell in love with it. We play a game where we run around the house yelling, "Doreeeeeee, Doreeeeee whereareyou?"
We are finally out of the hat obsession and we are as surprised as anyone that we were able to get the hat off her head and keep it off. We made a huge fuss about her having piggy tails in her hair. She went to her best friend Will's birthday party and she wore her head in pigtails AND wore a dress, people were wondering where Kate was.
Aiden's life would be so much better if everyone would just leave him alone. He doesn't ask much, just some toys to sort through and order, maybe a ball pit to sit in and count the balls, throwing one out every now and then. His needs are simple really and no matter how much he desires this oasis of an existence it just rarely happens. Dynamite Kate is usually the first culprit but she has such a warm and caring personality that she will quickly give back whatever it is that she took - well except if is a REALLY special toy, in that case she develops selective listening.
When we go to Kindergym some children have the audacity to want to intrude on the little space he has created for himself as far away from others as possible. His only weapon is his drawn out "Nooooooooo-ow" and he grabs whatever it is he wishes not to lose. He is quite prepared to wait it out until the criminal children grow bored and leave.
Should they be cunning enough to get what it is he has, or take over the peace of equipment he calls his greatest tool - the 2 year old tantrum which has no effect what so ever on the offending child.

Oooops kinda forgot about June. Just shows how hectic life gets!
Yesterday Kate and Aiden had some friends over for a Wiggle's theme 2nd birthday party. It was a great day and rather stress free. I had to fight the kids for some fairy bread but other than that everything went great. It didn't rain and it was quite mild. Uncle Randall dressed up as Captain Feathersword, much to Kate and Aiden's delight.
Kate and Aiden's language continues to expand. Kate has well over 50 words and is putting very simple sentences together. Aiden is about a month behind Kate in his language. They are both growing so quickly and love to copy things we do. They sweep, mop, dust.....if only it were that easy with Daddy.
Kate now wears a hat 24 hours a day....yes.....ALL the time, even in the bath. It has become her security item. We can only hope her hair is growing ok under that hat. She also loves her bubbies (toy dolls) and she is quite the little mother. Helen gave her a doll's house and she spends hours sorting it all out.
Aiden has been perfecting his tantrums and I must admit he has developed it into a fine art. We just have to let him go and wear himself out. He is very black and white....he is either laid back, happy and easily entertained or he is exploding. Luckily it doesn't happen too often!
