He walks!
Aiden suddenly "got it" and off he went. He has been walking ever since. I cannot tell you how cute it is to see them walking all over the place! They are so proud of themselves. Aiden will be standing across the room and I will call, "Come and give Mummy a kiss!" and he will walk as quickly as he can with a big grin on his face. Seconds later I get a big open mouthed kiss!
Aiden is teething big time. He has 3 molars and 3 canines coming down and these are the worst teeth. He isn't doing too badly. I think he is a bit testy and poor old Katie bears the brunt of this. He hunts her down and grabs her so he can bite her or pull her hair. It gets so she sees him coming and she runs screaming in the other direction. They do seem to be fighting over things more and it takes all our powers of distraction to stop an early death in the family.
They both caught ANOTHER cold. It wasn't as bad as that flu and they seem much better.
Kate and Aiden have the most extensive and amazing vocabulary. Here are just some of their words:
* CAR...........DA! * BOTTLE.............DA! *CAT.....DA! DA!
* BOOK.......DA! * DOG....................DA! * TV........DA!
We even have some phrases:
* May I please play outside?.....DA! * May I please have a drink?........DA!
They are very good at communicating in spite of this. Kate will walk over to me with a block and hand it to me. She will then pat her head thus indicating that she would like me to put the block on her head. Weird? Well I am afraid I started this game.
Aiden played his first pretend game at the supermarket yesterday. I had him in the trolley and I gave him some pizzas in a heavy plastic container. He spent several trips down the aisles pretending to grab some and eat it.
We have made their bedtime earlier - 7pm. Kate sleeps for 2 hours in the day and Aiden sleeps for 40 minutes.. Aiden gets up between 6 - 7am and Kate often rises before lunch (no seriously around 7:30-8am). The girl loves to sleep.
Aiden has a referral to an eye specialist because he is developing a lazy left eye. This can make him look cross eyed which is a little off putting. He may have to wear a patch on his good eye to make the lazy eye work harder. I asked the nurse how they keep the patch on. She says after a while they hardly notice it. Oh yeah? What about if they have a twin who would be delighted to constantly pull the thing off, or be jealous and insist she get one too?
